APW - Rockford, 15J marked as "15 R," Model 6, 18S, gold-filled HC recase, white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, exposed escapement, gold jewel settings, gold cup on barrel arbor, nickel damascene, s#199370. This rare movement represents Rockford's finest quality Model 6 grade. Its "15 R" barrel bridge marking denotes "15 Ruby Jewels" which places this watch in the lineage of Rockford's early top grade ruby jeweled models. Examples of this movement we have encountered have serial numbers in the 196901 to 197000 and the 199201 to 199400 serial number ranges suggesting a possible original total production of 300 made. CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, few scattered very small scratches or fine scratches, some scattered very small surface spots; dial with edge chip under bezel at 12:30, outer chapter hl between 3 and 4; case lift spring is only contacting lid through first half of opening motion so lid must be manually lifted open past this point, case shows very light wear, some dings or small shallow dents to upper rear, engine turning detail with mild reduction; tight bow, crown shows light wear; good glass crystal.
